Abstract :
An analytical approach is presented to evaluate the bit error rate performance of a MIMO power line communication system taking into account the power line noise which is non-white and impulsive in nature. Transfer function of the 2×2 MIMO power line is considered and BER results for a binary PSK link is evaluated numerically for different power line parameters. The result show that there are significant deterioration in BER due to the combined influence of non-white noise and crosstalk due to the coupling of the power line conductors which is taken into account by the equivalent inductance, capacitance and resistance of the three phase line.
