Abstract
In this paper, we discuss the recent antenna research and development work at the University of the Philippines´ Wireless Communications Engineering Laboratory. These include the following: (a) directive antennas and Wifi radios for rural connectivity, (b) antennas for emergency communication radios operating in TV white space, and (c) development of an automatic antenna tuner. The general design workflow as well as the intended applications and deployment of these antennas are described.
