Abstract
This article shows a method for using the voluntary blinks as a control tool in a BCI (Brain Computer Interface), based on the raw EEG (Electroencephalography) signal generated by the NeuroSky Mindwave Mobile device, which use an Arduino with bluetooth module "BlueSMiRF-Silver" as a receiver. The processing of the raw EEG signal is based on the use of a median filter as preprocessing stage, and a mode filter of the signal output, with a large number of samples. With this method, a conditioned signal is generated and then using a simple algorithm that recognizes the corresponding pattern, the voluntary blinks are detected and the involuntary blinks are despised. The results show that accuracy obtained of the method is significant, approximately 90%.
