Abstract
Asynchronous machines are a viable option for the use of the energy offer by little renewable potentials due to the advantages presented against its synchronous counterpart. With the implementation of a greater number of three phases, to these advantages add up improvements in performance that offers a multiphase structure. This paper proposed a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) controlled by pulse width modulation by space vector (SVPWM), implemented to a self-excited triple stator induction generator for stabilizing the voltage and frequency to the variation of the load connected to its terminals. The application of the system in a micro hydropower plant is proposed.
