  • Abstract
    Objective: Through studying the features and patterns of hospitalization death cases in 5 years at a certain hospital in Hebei Province, China, this study was aimed at strengthening diseases prevention, reducing death rate, improving health conditions and providing bases for Health Administrative Departments´ scientific decision-making. Methods: It did statistical analysis on the death rate, gender, age, occupation and cause of death, etc. of 2115 mortality cases at the hospital from 2007 to 2010. Results: First of all, the death rate dropped year by year, and the men´s was higher than the women´s. Second, the death rate, of which peasants accounted for a larger proportion, tended to increasing with age. And last, The top five leading causes of death were as follows: Circulation system diseases(30.73%), Injury and Poisoning(14.14%), Respiratory diseases(12.53%), Malignant tumors(12.48%), and Nervous system diseases(12.34%), all of which made up 82% of the death cases. Conclusions: It is important to care for life and health, especially men and peasants´, further strengthen the prevention and treatment of Circulation system diseases, Injury and Poisoning, Respiratory diseases, Malignant tumors, Nervous system diseases, etc., further increase medical quality, and cut the death rate.
