Abstract :
We have proposed a novel radio over fiber scheme to generate frequency sextuple millimeter wave to reduce system cost at central office(CO) by using one optical modulator. In this scheme, by adjusting the proper DC bias and RF power in CO, the optical millimeter-wave(mm-wave) carriers are generated with six times frequency of the local oscillator(LO) signal using one LiNbO3 Mach-Zehnder Modulator(LN-MZM). We have simulated optical mm-wave generation up to 60GHz using 10GHz LO, and downstream signal can transmit over 40km in fiber.
