Abstract :
The uncertainty in the temporal and spatial distribution of electric vehicle´s (EV) charging load will directly affect the network´s load pattern and other operational characteristics. This paper analyses the key factors which can affect the EV´s charging load. Based on the data obtained from the EV charging terminals of a technology park in Beijing, the EV charging´s starting time, duration and charging power are analyzed in terms of their probability distribution and probability density function. EV load´s temporal and spatial probability representation and the charging load´s expected model are then analyzed. Using Beijing area´s summer load as a case study, the EV´s unregulated charging and its effect to the distribution network´s load characteristic is analyzed under different EV penetration levels.
