Abstract :
Nowadays, the reliability and accuracy of synchronous clock in the power system protection and location is hardly realized. High accuracy synchronous clock based on GPS and BEIDOU navigation satellite system was presented in the paper. Firstly, the accumulating error produced by crystal oscillator can be eliminated by reference of GPS 1PPS based on digital phase lock principle, and then GPS and BEIDOU mutual backup scheme can guarantee the reliability of synchronous clock when GPS worked under abnormal status or random error was too large. And then on the basis of high accuracy synchronous clock technology, a network-based traveling wave fault location system was proposed. The presented system operated in Hunan Changsha and Zhuzhou power system, and the results showed that it had great reliability, stability and accuracy.
