Abstract :
A method based on the dynamic voltage stability margin (DVSM) is proposed for calculating the maximum urban power supply capacity (MUPSC). In this method, the objective is to maximize the power load while observing N-1 security constraint. The constraints are system stability limit, thermal stability limit, excitation current limit of generators, voltage limit of load, etc. Considering dynamic response of the electric power devices, this method overcomes the limitations of traditional methods which is based on static power flow calculation and load model and dynamic response are ignored. A real urban grid is simulated, the result shows that by this method, MUPSC is calculated effectively, limiting factors of MUPSC is located as well as the weak points of the power grid.
