Abstract
High efficiency can be obtained by using multi-level coding, at the expense of receiver complexity and sensitivity degradation. Alternatively, bandwidth-reduced formats like enhanced phase shaped binary transmission (EPSBT) or vestigial side band (VSB) have demonstrated high spectral efficiencies. In this respect, the enhanced PSBT and RZ-VSB formats seem to be most adequate
