Abstract :
Partial discharge (PD) and water tree is the important reason to insulation deterioration of XLPE cable, So PD monitoring and locating is an important means of cable operation and maintenance. On the basis of the mechanism of cable´s PD and the research of cable aging diagnosis, the Matlab Simulink simulation model of XLPE is built, and the variation law of the chaotic characteristic parameters of PD signal is studied. The simulation results show that: with the increase of transmission distance, the correlation dimension decreases with the decreasing of the logarithmic function, and the new method based on chaotic characteristic is proposed.
