Abstract :
With the high penetration of distributed generation (DG), the power quality, protection and control of the distribution networks will be affected. This paper mainly studies the impacts of DG on both voltage and line loss. To quantitatively evaluate the impacts, a set of quantification indices are adopted. To take comprehensive evaluation of the impacts, a principal component analysis (PCA) method is proposed in this paper. Considering different capacities and different locations, the evaluation indices are calculated based on IEEE 33-bus test system. The results are presented and analyzed to illustrate the usefulness of proposed method and indices.
