Abstract :
This paper describes the two-fold method that was used to design a Geographical Information System (GIS) for the tourism purposes of Kefalonia Island. Our concern lies on how to best engage user adaptation on a system with high demands in terms of user interest. We have come up with a combined decision making process for its design. In earlier stages we employ the informal QOC ensuring that high level decisions are sound and explicit throughout design and later on we use formal SAW, which is applied on every high-level decision to further weigh the user adaptation attributes that are adopted. This two-sided attack approach ensures design integrity and a high degree of flexibility to our system.
