This paper presents a cost-effective WDM transmitter in hybrid integration technology (HIT). It contains 16 laser diodes, an arrayed waveguide multiplexer (AWG), and the laser driver circuits in one package. A fiber grating laser (FGL) is used as a single mode laser diode in the 1550nm window
