Abstract
Cooperative spectrum sensing is an important issue which determines the performance of a cognitive radio network. Our proposed work is to minimize the cooperative spectrum sensing time during a cognitive cycle. In our proposed protocol, individual sensing results of secondary nodes will be shared during signaling phase by using a random access method in which, we reduce the empty slot duration without affecting the performance of the system. Using simulation and analysis, it can be shown that our proposed protocol performs better than earlier proposed protocols.
