Abstract
The brightness of objects of in infrared images slightly differ from the surrounding background and hence it makes a challenging task to segment pedestrians in infrared images. Recently Zhaoying Liu et al. have suggested an iterative method using multiple features for the segmentation of ships. We have proposed a modified iteration less method along with Gamma correction for the segmentation of pedestrians. The segmentation results on benchmarking OSU thermal pedestrian database are promising.
