Abstract
The interdependency of physical dynamics and communications is of key importance in cyber physical systems (CPSs). Entropy is used to measure the uncertainty of a physical system and determine the communication requirement for monitoring the system. The evolution of entropy in time and space is described using ordinary differential equations (ODEs) and partial differential equations (PDEs), whose validity is demonstrated by numerical results in the context of smart grid.
