Abstract
Internet access through mobile devices is used increasingly. Data communications via Internet performed by mobile users need to kept in order offering better services especially for live streaming application such as VoIP. However, since the movement of users changes rapidly to their attachment points (AP), the handoff process needs to be taken into account. Several MIPv6 protocols have been proposed by IETF to solve the continuity communication of users. Users are supposed to be unaffected by this handoff mechanism. Those protocols are analyzed in term of the required time (delay) it takes when the handoff occurs. The results of delay of the handoff process are then compared with QoS for VoIP applications so as to obtain a better MIPv6 protocol that fulfills VoIP requirements.
