Abstract
In this paper, FPGA based all-on-chip digital controller is proposed which includes PI controller, +sequence detector, instantaneous power calculator, low-pass filters and hysteresis current controller. All these modules are configured on FPGA hardware resources aimed to mitigate harmonics and compensate reactive power in power distribution network. VHDL code for each module has been generated with help of System Generator. The whole controller is implemented on vertex-5 xc5vlx110t chip of Xilinx and tested with ML-509 co-simulation platform with low power laboratory DSTATCOM prototype. After verification it has been found that all-on-chip digital controller is able to compensate balanced/unbalanced non-linear load with distorted PCC voltage within allowable range of IEEE standard 519.
