Abstract :
In a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), significant amount of data flows through the nodes near the sink, than the nodes away from the sink. As a result, the limited energy available with the nodes around the sink becomes a bottleneck in the performance of the WSN. The nodes in the bottleneck zone determines the lifetime of the WSN. So, there is a need to investigate the effect of the size of the bottleneck zone on the lifetime and collectible information of the network. In this paper, analytically, we study the effect of bottleneck zone radius on the network lifetime. Further, the effect of the bottleneck zone radius on the upper bound of the collectible information has also been studied.
