Abstract
Micro flexible electrodes were fabricated to stimulate peripheral nerve for a rodent model. This paper proposes two types of micro electrodes to stimulate peripheral nerve of lab mouse which has an interval in 600 μm. One is a type of electrode which is able to be fully embedded into the lab mouse body, and the other is partially embedded type. A thin polyimide film was used for high flexibility and biocompatibility, so that it could deformed along to nerve shape with surface tention. By suturing to the peripheral nerve of lab mouse, its foot was stimulated using the fabricated micro flexible electrode. We confirmed a leg of the lab mouse took an involuntary motion by receiving an electrical stimulation on sciatic nerve from the fabricated micro flexible electrode.
