Abstract
The goal of the paper is to assess the theoretical basis for power system dynamic stability analysis in the case of the occurrence of power quality disturbances such as unbalances, harmonics and interharmonics. This kind of pollution in the system currents and voltages can cause stability problems especially in isolated electric plants where small generators supply motor drives, static power converters or nonlinear loads. Some examples based on simulation activity show the influence of these disturbances on the dynamic stability of the generator.
