Abstract :
This paper presents a method for total transfer capability (TTC) determination based on iterative linear estimation. The proposed method utilizes a tangent vector at an initial solution of power flow equations to predict a maximum allowable transfer between seller and buyer buses. Since power flow equations are nonlinear equations, the obtained result after the first prediction is still deviated from the correct solution. Therefore, a correction process based on an iterative calculation is employed in the proposed method. The method has been tested with an actual 51 bus-system of which satisfactory results are obtained with short computation time.
