Abstract
The second generation Terrestrial Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB-T2) receiver, as a wireless OFDM system, suffers from sampling frequency offset (SFO) resulting from the difference between the receiver and the transmitter oscillators. This causes both frequency and phase errors that degrade the performance of the receiver. DVB-T2 has scattered and continual pilots located inside the normal symbols of the frame. They are used for the synchronisation and estimation purposes. In this paper, both types of DVB-T2 pilots will be exploited to estimate the SFO of the received signal. Then, a low complex multi-rate farrow structure is used to correct the received signal by interpolation or decimation. The proposed time tracking architecture is a fast digital feed-back loop with reduced hardware complexity.
