Abstract
In this paper, 3D equations of heat conduction, boundary conditions and basic hypothesizes of stator solution region are achieved according to heat transfer theory. Based on electromagnetic field theory, the formulation of conductor eddy distributing coefficient in windings is derived. The isoparametric finite element method of hexahedron and eight nodes is used to calculate the 3D stator temperature field of a large salient pole synchronous machine, and numerical simulation method is applied to study the influence of end part leakage field on stator temperature
