Abstract
This paper gives a comprehensive study of the novel 3-phase 4-wire H-bridge interleaved buck active power filter (H-bridge IB-APF) which eliminates current harmonics without shoot-through phenomenon and with no dead time effect. In this topology, three single phase H-bridge interleaved buck inverter is being connected with each particular phase and neutral and can be used for high voltage, medium-to-high power application. The adaptive hysteresis current band controller based p-q control strategy is chosen as it is found quite satisfactory for harmonic compensation with optimized switching frequency. The performance of the H-bridge IB-APF is being verified by MATLAB/Simulink and real time study is being done by OPAL-RT real time simulator. As can be seen, the THD of the source current is well below 5% following to IEEE-519 standard with non-linear un-balanced load current. Further the circuit is able to eliminate the shoot-through current which improves the reliability of the filter.
