Abstract :
Power Line Communication (PLC) is a latest technology in the communication field with worldwide interest in its development. PLC modulates communication signals over power lines to enable devices network without introducing any new wired infrastructure. PLC is an umbrella of many standards categorized in terms of performance, particular application and environment it addresses. The three well known narrow band, OFDM based, PLC standards are IEEE 1901.2-2013, PRIME, G3. In this paper, we attempt to present the physical layer performance of IEEE 1901.2, PRIME and G3 under additive white gaussian noise (AWGN) and narrow band interferer.
