  • Abstract
The Paper presents in-depth analysis of Feeder Reconfiguration (FR) of 139 bus, 33 kV distribution system (Jaipur city, Rajasthan, India), by means of Minimum Power Flow based Reduction (MPFR) technique. The earliest model of Jaipur city as Test system is designed and simulated in Mi-Power software. FR of the considered system has been performed for three network configurations namely Existing System (ES), Base System (BS) & Proposed Reconfigured System (PRS). The network losses of ES (which is operated radially by the utility) are determined by load flow studies. When the results of PRS are compared with the results of ES, it is found that network losses are reduced along with an improvement in voltage profile of the system is being observed. The increase and decrease of load by 10 percent is also simulated to ensure the adaptability and stability of PRS configuration with change in load. The considerable reduction in losses with improved system voltage profile & better options of system expansions are the suggested outcomes of the research studies performed.
