Abstract :
This paper presents detailed open loop control analysis for a boost converter with and without a current steering circuit. Due to the reason of sudden switching of the diode, there will be EMI problem happen in the boost converter resulting into more input current ripple occurs in the system. In order to solve the EMI problem, it is necessary to slowdown the transients. Therefore a current steering circuit is connected across the diode to take care of the sudden change due to switching of the diode. The averaging is done by state space method. The study of step response, impulse response and bode diagram revealed the system dynamics. The EMI problem is resolved by proper design of current steering circuit. The FFT analysis is done for boost with and without steering circuit. The system dynamics are found to be improved with proposed configuration. The experimental results are verified and presented.
