Abstract
An excitation system model suitable for use in large-scale power system stability studies is presented in this paper. The desired models must be suitable for representing the actual excitation equipment performance for large, severe disturbances as well as for small perturbations. In this paper, the authors present the methods they have adopted both for the internal and dynamic models. Some simulation results are given and discussed. They have especially tackled the saturation and commutation overlapping problems
