  • Abstract
This paper introduces an approach based on Higher-Order Moment Spectra (HOMS) to determine integer power nonlinearity. The idea is to quantitate the power nonlinearity by exploiting HOMS. HOMS are complex quantities. Therefore, they provide crucial phase information for analyzing phase couplings. Phase couplings are typical of nonlinear systems which indicate that the study of HOMS would be meaningful for analyzing the polynomial nonlinearities specifically the power nonlinearity. Bicoherence indicates the presence of quadratic phase couplings. Tricoherence senses cubic phase couplings. It will be interesting to analyze the behavior of higher-order moment coherence (HOMC) in the presence of different categories of phase couplings. It is observed that a significant value of HOMC can indicate the degree of power nonlinearity. The result is obtained for different values of integer power nonlinearities.
