Abstract
The controller in a pulse-width modulation (PWM) power converter has to stabilize the system and guarantee an almost constant output voltage in spite of the perturbations in the input voltage and output load. The transfer function of the Boost converter with respect to duty cycle is of higher order which makes it difficult to achieve the aforementioned goals. In this paper Model Order Reduction (MOR) technique is used to reduce the higher order transfer function to a lower order model. Boost converter has a right-half plane zero (RHPZ), hence there is a need for designing a Robust controller to get the desired performance. The controller is designed using H∞ control theory, via γ-iteration method.
