Abstract :
Sound perception and its analysis is an important aspect in design of acoustic experiments. The work presented here consists of acoustic source design and implementation of the design using hardware approach. Acoustic based experiments on subjects can be performed by utilizing the designed acoustic source. Simulation software and hardware is implemented to produce various sounds. Acoustic experiments in various fields of acoustics can be done via this hardware model. Acoustic experiments are performed on various subjects. Various set of experiments are designed where exposure of acoustic source with fixed frequency on a number of subjects is done. A noise signal is added to the acoustic source to create a noisy condition. Response of the subjects is taken in a tabulated form for the score of the quality of acoustic source. This experiment is designed to perform listening test for analysis of the sound perception by various subjects. The test result under noisy condition shows variation in the perception of sound by the 8 subjects (aged above 50) while other (aged 22-32) have identical rating for the experiment. Experimental analysis is shown for the response provided by the subject for sound perception at various frequencies.
