  • Abstract
    This paper describes the design of two performance class filters required to meet the dynamic performance of a PMU. Performance of the filter is verified by the out of band rejection, noise and harmonic elimination of FIR filter. Proposed M-class filter is designed by windows method of FIR filter using the four window functions such as Hann, Hamming, Blackman and Kaiser window. All these filter designs are done at various sampling rate Ns and reporting rate Fs to reduce the number of filter coefficients and the filter group delay. Main objective is Comparison of the various Filter design performance using different window functions on the basis of stop-band attenuation of the filter.
