Abstract
Renewable sources of energy is now playing a very important role in the electrical power supply. In near future significant portion of total power generated will be obtained from renewable energy sources like solar, wind etc. In thermal power plant conventional frequency control technique is done using Automated Load Frequency Control model using governor and assisted supervisory control. This will no longer remains the primary tool for frequency control when the maximum generation will come from renewable sources. Here an efficient solution to control load frequency is proposed to address the issue of frequency control in a situation consisting of solar, thermal and pump-storage units. In this context we will try to develop a computational algorithm which can be used to minimize the frequency fluctuations and at the same time optimizing the output to the grid.
