Abstract
This Multirate signal processing is a prominent technique for DSP (Digital Signal Processing) based applications which required low power consumption and high sample rates. Multirate based filters are generally used for the sampling rate adaptation. This paper provides implementation and performance comparison of CIC (cascaded Integrator Comb) filters for interpolation using recursive and Polyphase structure and also present basic principle of CIC filter for interpolation. Basic purpose of CIC interpolator is increase the sample rate. CIC filter has broad application in both the analog and digital system for sample rate alteration in conjunction with filtering. The different interpolation filter structures are consisting with cascaded integrator comb filter to work for the up sample rate. These filters are used in the signal interpolation which has the effect on enhance the sampling rate. It is better as compare to other sampling rate conversion techniques in term of low power consumption and complexity seeing as it does not required a multiplier. The model is designed in Matlab Simulink. To conclude different structures are investigated in term of side lobe attenuation, main lobe width and output spectra.
