  • Abstract
The need for large scale communication and the advancement in information technology has invoked the area of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN´s) in petroleum industry. Adhoc network is a set of nodes, which communicate with all other without using several predefined framework, access point before unified supervision. WSN´s are equipped with more than thousands of sensors, actuators and controller. Each and every sensor node which are in the network compiles data from its connected devices and delivers to the controller node and further controller sends a control command for necessary action to actuators. This paper showcases performance comparison of two routing protocols i.e. Routing Internet Protocol (RIP) and Location-Aided Routing (LAR) used in communication network with 45 nodes for petroleum industry. A well known network simulator QualNet 5.0 is used with scalable networks to study the performance matrices of mentioned protocols. The Performance matrices used are E2E delays, Average Jitter´s [6].Further the effect of using different protocol (s) on the performance of the petroleum tank system is analyzed in Matlab10.0.
