Abstract :
Extended network lifetime and load balancing are important requirements for many WSN applications. There are many clustering routing schemes for homogeneous proactive and reactive WSNs but they suffer from the problem of uneven load distribution and back transmission. This paper presents an energy efficient load balanced clustering scheme with away cluster head (ACH) scheme and free association mechanism to overcome these problems. CHs selection depends upon many criteria i.e. residual energy and distance from other CHs to evenly distribute the load to selected CHs, on the other hand free association mechanism is used to associate the nodes into cluster which avoids the back transmission. Thus this scheme prolong the network lifetime. Proposed clustering scheme are simulated using MATLAB-R version 7.10.0.499 (R2010a) for LEACH and TEEN. Simulated results shows that proposed clustering algorithm increase the network lifetime with less energy consumption.
