Abstract :
This paper aims to determine the performance of an Ultra Wideband (UWB) textile antenna on layered human body model for Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) applications. A human body model having three layers (skin, fat and muscle) is developed and an UWB textile antenna on Dacron fabric (εr=3) having bandwidth of 11.4 GHz (2.4-14 GHz) is attached on this human body model to investigate their characteristics and performance. The return loss, VSWR and Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of the proposed antenna on human body model depict it as a potential candidate for Ultra wide band applications. The simulation results and proposed antenna design details are presented by CST microwave studio.
