Abstract
A single phase differential Zeta rectifier-inverter is proposed in this paper. Two bidirectional (2Q) Zeta DC-DC converters are connected in differential cascade mode to provide the single phase rectifier-inverter operation of the proposed circuit. The high frequency duty cycle Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control of four switches of the proposed circuit provides inverter (DC-AC) operation in one direction. It works as a rectifier (AC-DC) in the other direction. In inverter mode the circuit provides simultaneous f/v control with near sinusoidal output voltage. In rectifier mode the circuit provides regulated AC-DC conversion with input active Power Factor Correction (PFC) and input current shaping facility. In both rectifier and inverter modes of operation the voltage/current gains may be either up (boost) or down (buck).
