Virtual Experiment in Distance Education: Based on 3D Virtual Learning Environment

The 3D virtual learning environment based on Web3D technologies has strong interactivity and immersive, provides a new means to improve the quality of the virtual experiment in distance education. In this paper, on the basis of discussing the characteristics and the distinctive advantages of the 3D virtual learning environment in distance education, a virtual experiment is designed and implemented in Open Simulator preliminary verify the validity of applying the 3D virtual learning environment to the virtual experiment in distance education.
