Abstract :
In this paper, an accurate HVDC transmission system model, which includes AC system, transformer, converter, AC/DC filter, smoothing reactor and transmission line, is built up by the power system simulation software PSCAD/EMTDC. Referring to the standard testing system CIGRE Benchmark, the simulation model of the control system is established, too. The simulation result shows that this model can simulate ±500kV HVDC system accurately and is capable of being used as an effective tool to study HVDC transmission system or other related researches.
