Abstract :
With ever increasing large-scale grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) power plants, there is an urgent need for accurate PV plant model to study the impact of PV generation integration. In this paper, the PV inverter model for bulk power system studies is investigated based on comprehensive tests. At first, the inverter model is introduced. The model consists of local controller module, fault ride through and protective controller module, and grid interface module. Then a real 500kW inverter is adopted for two series of test. These tests include voltage disturbance test and control command disturbance test to identify parameters of different modules respectively. Finally, the model is simulated on DIgSILENT PowerFactory software package and validated with test data. The model validation results show a good match between simulation and measurement data.
