Abstract
With the increasing wind power penetration, the electromechanical transient stability of wind turbines is more and more significant. Deep research of rotor dynamics of wind turbines is fundamental to the stability analysis during grid faults. This paper concentrates on the rotor motion of doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) wind turbines (WTs) during a symmetrical grid fault. Various factors having influence on input or/and output powers are considered under the existing transient power control strategy. The objective of this paper is to provide an insight into the rotor dynamic behaviour of DFIG WTs during grid faults.
