Abstract :
As one reactive power compensation device, the SVG can effectively improve the LVRT (low-voltage ride-through) ability of wind generator and prevent large-scale wind power off-grid. This paper analyses the improvement of LVRT ability of an actual DFIG-type wind farm with Crowbar and SVG. Firstly, the Model and control of SVG and Crowbar are presented, and then, the coordination of SVG and Crowbar is introduced. Finally, the improvement of LVRT with SVG and Crowbar for an actual DFIG-type wind farms is validated through simulation.
