  • Abstract
Recently, more and more accidents show that the SVGs are effective devices to provide the reactive power and prevent the splitting of the wind power farms from the main power grid. This paper analyses the impact of SVG on the voltage stability of an actual wind farm. First, the structure and characteristic of SVG is introduced. Then, the control strategy of SVG is presented. Furthermore, the simulation model for an actual wind farm containing SVG is built in the DIgSILENT/PowerFactory. The simulation results show that the SVG can improve the voltage stability of wind farms under different operation conditions.
