Abstract :
In this paper, we propose an algorithm to suppress the narrowband interference (NBI) during the time synchronization. By exploring the difference between the time domain autocorrelation matrix of the NBI and that of the desired signal, the NBI is suppressed in the eigen-domain of the NBI. Compared with the traditional frequency domain techniques, the proposed algorithm does not encounter the problem of spectral leakage, thus can yield better performance when the NBI power is high. The probabilities of false alarm and detection are analyzed to illustrate the performance of the proposed algorithm. For the practical implementation, a blind adaptive approach is developed to estimate the inverse of the autocorrelation matrix of the received signal. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and advantage of the proposed algorithm.
