Abstract
The use of a gradient index (GRIN) plate in a prism compressor is shown to more than triple the spectral range of the negative dispersion. We propose a design based on the use of novel photonic polymers, which provides a nearly linear group delay over 460-800 not and is suitable for pulse compression down to 1.5 optical cycles.
