  • Abstract
Most electricity bills are paid by the post-paid method, which corresponds to the real electricity consumed by electrical appliances. Demand Response (DR) programs are based on showing the consumer the current floating electricity price. Users do not realize the impact of the consumption cost as it changes for each mode of individual electricity consumption behaviors. An Electricity Forecasting Service for Appliance (EFSA) approach works on the pre-paid method and forecasts the consumption cost of an electrical appliance before the required electricity is generated. EFSA converts electrical behavior to a fee-based product of an electricity company´s service in which the charge changes in step with the floating price of electricity. According to the information from EFSA, electrical behaviors can be rescheduled in an optimal way to avoid extra consumption cost. EFSA enables DR programs, extends the lifecycle of electrical appliances, and helps users to reduce their electricity bill.
