Abstract :
In this paper a new coil design has been proposed, called as Quad D Quadrature (QDQ), in order to keep the maximum flux linkage between wireless charging system (WCS) coils even with reasonable misalignment. The proposed coils use their inherent five flux linkage loops at zero misalignment and three loops when encountered 50% misalignment between coils. The careful selection of optimized parameters and coil dimensions in WCS system can help in achieving high efficiency and larger misalignment toleration. The simulation and experimental results exhibit a promising efficiency. Misalignment toleration during the operation has been analysed for lateral direction. The conclusions have been made on the basis of simulation and experimental studies of WCS system.
